NEC Australia To Light Up Sydney Football Stadium

NEC Australia is excited to announce a major new partnership with Venues NSW to provide digital display and technology solutions at the NSW Government’s new Sydney Football Stadium.

The 10-year agreement will see NEC Australia place 1500 TV screens inside, outside and around the SFS to power a game-changing live sport and entertainment experience for patrons.

As part of the deal, NEC Australia’s world-leading digital technology solutions can be extended to the rest of the Venues NSW network -Stadium Australia, Bankwest Stadium, McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle Entertainment Centre and Showground, Sydney Cricket Ground and WIN Sports Stadium and Entertainment Centres.

The 1500-screen digital display network will provide a rich and immersive experience for all patrons, providing live action updates and public safety messaging. Further, NEC’s latest biometric customer experience technologies will be deployed, allowing express check in and entry using facial recognition systems, personal registration, to assist wayfinding and provide enhanced safety and security.

Venues NSW CEO Kerrie Mather said the new SFS would redefine the live spectator experience when it opens in time for the 2022 NRL Finals Series.

“In 2014, the SCG was the first venue in Australia to provide free wi-fi to stadium patrons, as wellasa vast IPTV network.

“When the SFS opens next year, it will be a whole new ball game thanks to NEC’s innovative technologies that will complement the best in-stadium experience Australia has ever seen.”

Mitsuhiro Murooka, President and CEO of NEC ANZ, said that at the new SFS,NEC will showcase its expertise in digital display and technological solutions.

The NSW Government is redeveloping theSydney Football Stadium into a modern, world-class, 42,500 seat venue and precinct, to ensure Sydney has a sporting and entertainment precinct of international standard.
